TWD is currently looking for an Intermediate - Project / Mechanical Engineer - P.Eng. located in Burlington. ON. Willing to go to site on as a needed basis. 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Interface with client stakeholders and contractors to plan, specify and design upgrades and additions to process equipment and piping systems
  • Perform site visits to develop and maintain positive client relationships
  • Responsible for the timely completion of projects; use engineering knowledge in the planning and executing of assignment
  • Coordination with multidiscipline team
  • Prepare schedule and monitor project cost and status reporting for client
  • General support to the Mechanical Engineering discipline at TWD
  • Develop, review, select and approve mechanical specifications for processing equipment, pressure vessels, piping systems, components, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, storage tanks and other equipment.
  • Review and approve piping drawings and other associated documents.
  • Ensure all code requirements are met
  • Preparation of Scope of Work and Contractor Bid documentation packages
  • Review and approval of piping designs prepared by Mechanical/Piping designers. This includes preparation of stress analysis reports, equipment data sheets, and development of piping specifications.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Provide engineering support in other areas of engineering discipline (e.g., civil, structural, electrical, etc.) as applicable

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 6‐12 years of working experience from graduation, with experience in sectors such as Infrastructure.
  • Registration, or eligibility for registration, as an P.Eng with APEGA is required
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principals, and familiarity with industry codes such as ASME B31.3, BPVC, B149.3 etc...
  • Intermediate skills with tools such as AutoCAD or CAE tools such as Compress, Caesar II etc... are desirable
  • Able to conduct detailed calculations to ensure that designs meet engineered standards and applicable codes
  • Experience with multiple phases of projects including preliminary and detailed design, tendering, construction supervision and commissioning is an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Motor Vehicle Operator's License to facilitate independent travel to project sites and other office locations
