At TWD Technologies, we are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Denver, CO team.
Job Summary
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for planning, organizing and execution of various aspects of mechanical engineering, piping engineering and design support. This will include participating as a member of dynamic project teams with a wide range of types of tasks. The position will provide the opportunity to work in the Refinery industry.
Job Duties
- Perform all or some of the following: organize/plan jobs, write/review specifications, write technical bid evaluations, prepare/maintain schedules, develop/monitor estimates and manpower forecasts, work with project/client/field, material procurement, permit, and subcontract activities.
- Utilize vendor data and work with personnel from other disciplines as required for the performance of designs. Utilize/perform squad checks of vendor data and drawings from other disciplines.
- Exhibit thorough understanding of pertinent codes and governing regulations and industry practices, etc.
- Preparation of Scope of Work and construction work packages (CWP’s).
- Preparation of Scope of Work and Contractor Bid documentation packages.
- Assisting in the ongoing development of TWD internal systems to improve our quality and efficiency of delivering effective projects to clients.
- General support to the Mechanical Engineering discipline.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Site experience, estimating experience within the Refinery industry.
- 10 + years experience as an Mechanical Engineer.
- Project Control Experience with Aspen In Plant Cost Estimator, in a refinery preferred.
- Scheduling experience a plus (Primavera)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Project).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, and experience in a client facing role is strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in EPCM and/or Owner Operations managing capital and small sustaining projects
- Registered Professional Engineer (EIT/P.E.) is an asset
- PMP designation is preferred but not mandatory
- Previous experience in the Oil & Gas industry is preferred
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook and Project)
- Exceptional communication and networking skills
- Willingness to travel regionally as needed to support Projects and Business Development
