TWD is currently seeking a General Plant Maintenance Coach to support our client office based in the Catlettsburgh, Kentucky for contract position!
Job Summary:
The General Plant Maintenance Coach will dedicate his or her time and energy to managing all aspects of the maintenance process in their assigned area(s) of responsibility. This includes leading the hourly work-force to function as a self-directed team. This also includes utilizing predictive and preventative maintenance tools to safely and effectively support the operation. The manager's responsibilities include supporting Corporate Policies and Programs to manage the workforce. Examples include eTime, Behavior Based Safety Observations, Housekeeping Audits and cooperating with the Environmental, Safety, Process Engineers, and Facilities Engineers to implement new equipment and work practices to the plant. The Maintenance Engineer and Coach is responsible to assist the Maintenance Manager in leading the Maintenance Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Administrative
- Identify and implement expense work to maintain asset utilization, safety, and equipment reliability
- Understand maintenance accounts and stay aware of cost performance vs. budget
- Monitor maintenance KPIs, report on performance, and act on performance issues
- Requisition parts
- Review and approve maintenance documentation, MOC, CAMs, PMs, KPI records, project drawings, etc.
Health, Safety, & Environmental
1. Abide by and enforce all plant safety/health/environmental policies, promote safety improvements, and strive for a safety perfect culture
2. Conduct incident investigations on near misses, incidents, and accidents
3. Execute the corporate and plant safety programs including performing safety audits, incident investigations, PHAs, annual review of JSPs, etc.
4. Manage safety performance of the maintenance team(s) including making sure they are using all work permits, LOTO, etc.
5. Perform safe behavior observations and enforce safety policies
6. Review MOC for area of responsibility and ensure process / equipment changes are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner
7. Serve as a model for working safely in the plant
Management Duties
1. Attend all daily communications meetings to coordinate the maintenance effort with production needs
2. Coach / lead maintenance team members to make the best decisions to provide equipment reliability at 100% production rate from turnaround to turnaround at the least cost
3. Control maintenance expenditure. Minimize costs while maintaining the plant's desired on-stream factor
4. Emphasize maintenance priorities for daily / weekly maintenance scheduling meetings
5. Monitor equipment condition and shop housekeeping. Take action as necessary
6. Plan and execute a winterization plan
7. Ensure that daily maintenance meetings are held where issues are identified and root-cause issues are addressed
People Duties
1. Maintain open communications and share important plant information to all team members
2. Administer company and plant policies maintaining effective labor relations
3. Know skill sets of the maintenance team members and identify training necessary to properly maintain equipment
4. Personally follow plant policies and hold the hourly work force accountable to follow plant policies
5. Supervise maintenance technicians including safety performance, tool inspection and use, planning, scheduling, timekeeping, accountability, adherence to plant policies, discipline, technical support, CMMS support, and organization / communication support.
Technical Duties / Support
1. Continually survey and know the condition of the equipment and infrastructure
2. Plan all backlog work orders with man-hour estimates, materials required, and special tools, rentals, or special instructions. Build job-plans for repetitive tasks.
3. Plan work orders with environmental compliance / consequences in mind
4. Read, understand, and comply with the equipment related portions of Title V, RCRA, Air Quality, Water Quality, and other environmental permits pertinent to the Reactivation Operation
5. Troubleshoot equipment issues and provide technical support to the maintenance team
6. Plan and schedule maintenance work assignments to effectively maintain the assets' reliability and support production
Other Responsibilities
- The successful candidate must be able to work well with peers and in a team environment. Able to communicate pertinent information to ensure that production operation runs safely and efficiently on all shifts. Must be confident and have ability to drive change, lead by example, demonstrate managerial courage, and engage direct reports.
Years Experience:
2-3 Years Supervision Experience
3-5 Years Manufacturing and/or Inventory Management Experience
Work Hours and Travel:
Hours of Work: Mondays – Fridays, 7am-3pm
Work Hours Description: Standard schedule plus occasional evenings and/or weekends
