As an Intermediate/Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in Stress Analysis & Static and Rotating Equipment, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of mechanical systems, focusing on stress analysis and mechanical equipment for oil and gas projects. Job Summary:
As an Intermediate/Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in Stress Analysis & Static and Rotating Equipment, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of mechanical systems, focusing on stress analysis and mechanical equipment for oil and gas projects. Based in Athens, Greece, you will work as an independent contractor, utilizing your expertise to ensure the successful execution of complex engineering tasks and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and Analysis:
- Preparation, review and approval of mechanical specifications for processing equipment (e.g. pressure vessels, piping systems and components, pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, storage tanks).
- Preparation of scope of work , contractor Bid documentation packages and MRs.
- Conduct piping systems and mechanical equipment stress analysis.
- Review and approval of piping and mechanical drawings, isometrics and CWPs prepared by designers. This includes preparation of stress analysis reports and development of piping specifications. Execute and review tie-in lists and line lists, P&IDs development,
- Perform detailed stress analysis and design of piping systems and static equipment components such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and storage tanks.
- Provide engineering estimates on proposals for all mechanical deliverables and other mechanical support.
- Develop and review engineering drawings, specifications, and calculation reports.
- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Document control.
- General support to the Mechanical team.
- Site visits and inspections.
2. Project Management:
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including process, structural, and piping engineers.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and clients.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during project execution and commissioning.
- Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure quality and compliance.
- Ensure all mechanical systems and installations meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and oversee safety protocols and procedures for mechanical work.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including technical reports and manuals.
- Present project updates and technical findings to stakeholders and clients.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project status and performance metrics.
- University Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the oil and gas industry.
- Proficiency in design and analysis software (e.g., CAESAR II, ANSYS, Compress, PV Elite).
- Strong understanding of Greek and industry standards and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
- Licensed Greek professional engineer with stamping capacity, fluent in English.
